*January 2015: The final evaluation report of the completed Mother Tongue Book/All Children Reading project was issued by MIT Linguist Professor Michel DeGraff. The analysis shows that the “Matènwa approach” resulted in measurable improvements in early grades reading for the five participating schools. The report may be viewed here.

*January 2014: Press Release: “GreaterGood, a family of online activism sites and its non-profit foundation GreaterGood.org have partnered with The Dreamweaver Foundation, The M.A.D. Girls, Inc., and multi-platinum recording artists Jordin Sparks and Jason Derulo, to launch “The Other Side”, a campaign supporting continued education for children in Haiti.” MCLC has been selected as the first site for this campaign. *November 2013: The Matènwa Community Learning Center was selected as the recipient of the Prix Humanitaire Lucienne Deschamps 2013. “This prize honors individuals and institutions who have distinguished themselves by the courage, commitment and devotion shown to the Haitian population in their benevolent work.” The Award ceremony was held on Friday, November 29, 2013 at the Karibe Convention Center in Petion-Ville.
